Interestingly, about half the obituaries of cult expert Margaret Singer completely omit the Unification Church from the list of predatory groups she studied. But the New York Times gets around to her this week, and devotes quite a bit to the Washington Times cult:

…Dr. Singer said that she had interviewed hundreds of members of the church and testified that its techniques for mind control were more powerful than those used by the North Koreans on their war prisoners. The church lost its case.
